“Doc” organized the first basketball team at Jersey City State, no easy task in 1932-33 when there were only 10 male students at the College. He served as the captain and student coach of the 1932-33 men’s basketball team. “Doc” was regarded as an excellent forward; a good scorer who was aggressive on defense. He was outstanding in Jersey City State’s first-ever victory over another State College, a 33-29 defeat of Newark State in 1934.
