New Jersey City University Athletics

Mary was active in all sports conducted by the Women’s Athletic Association during her four years at Jersey City Teachers College. She was considered an excellent all-around athlete. The 1938 graduate was elected president of the WAA for the 1936-37 school year. During that time, she was awarded an insignia, numerals, and two cheverons. Mary represented the College at Play Day in each of her four years and as an underclassman, she was selected by the upperclassmen to be a substitute during their games. Mary is a retired school teacher, who spent 28 years in the classroom in both Union City and Hackensack.
