Roy has served JCSC for 11 years as a player, assistant coach, sports information director and head coach. As a player, he was an outstanding offensive tackle before conference participation. He was team captain opening game in 1966 and 1967. After graduating in 1968, he joined the coaching staff the next season and then returned, again, in 1973. In 1981, Roy was named the head football coach and remained in that capacity until 1987. He was named NJSCAC Coach of the Year in 1984 and is currently the second winningest coach in JCSC history. In 1987, the Gothic Knights were number one in the nation in pass defense and number nine in total defense. During his reign, 23 Gothic Knights were named to All-NJAC first team and eight to the ECAC Metro NY-NJ All Star Team. Roy has also been involved in youth sports programs in Jersey City. He is Commissioner of the Hudson County Youth Football League and coaches the Jersey City Girls AAU 13-year-old basketball team. Roy is currently a teacher in the Jersey City school system.
