JERSEY CITY, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...The New Jersey Athletic Conference men's soccer game between New Jersey City University and nationally #3/4 ranked Montclair State University, scheduled for Wednesday, October 28 at 4 p.m. in Jersey City, has been postponed because of continual heavy rain.
The schools will now play on Friday, October 30 at 3 p.m. at NJCU's Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field. NJCU (6-9-2) is 4-3-1 at home this year and will be playing the final game of the 2009 season.
Prior to the contest, the Gothic Knights will honor its four seniors—
AWAL AHMED (Elizabeth, NJ/Linden), JEAN MOMBRUN (Orange, NJ/St. Benedict's Prep),
MICKAEL PEREIRA (Nutley, NJ/Harrison) and
JILMAR PEREZ (Princeton, NJ/South Brunswick) on Senior Day.
Montclair State (15-0-2, 7-0-1), the three-time defending NJAC champions, is the 2009 NJAC regular season champions as well.
This is the third weather-related postponement NJCU has experienced in men's soccer in less than two weeks.
