Senior All-American TERRY PEARSON (Jersey City, NJ/Lincoln) is the NJCU Men's Athlete of the Week for the second time this year after he earned All-Eastern College Athletic Conference honors in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes at the 2007 ECAC Outdoor Championships.

 

NJCU finished with 13 points in the overall team standings, and had the best finish of the four New Jersey Athletic Conference schools that qualified for the ECAC event. Overall, the Gothic Knights placed 22^nd of 44 scoring institutions.

 

Pearson, who did not qualify for the NCAA championships this year, completed his four-year career as a two-time All-American and eight-time All-ECAC performer between the indoor and outdoor seasons. He also owns a piece of the all-time NCAA Division III record in the 4x100-meter relay.

 

Pearson qualified for the ECACs in three events. In the 200 meters, he placed fifth of 15 in 22.20 seconds. In the 100-meter dash preliminaries, he was eighth of 23, timing 11.25 seconds. He was eighth in the 100 finals in 12.18. Pearson also finished ninth of 22 in the 400-meter dash, clocking 49.72 seconds—just 6/100^th of a second away from a third All-ECAC showing.
