Johnson currently teaches several courses within NJCU's School of Business, including Sports Management, Entrepreneurship and Business Analytics. A member of NJCU's Business and Economics Research Committee, Johnson was a recipient of the 2021-22 Faculty Knights Award during the 2022 Year-End Athletics Banquet for her constant support and advocation of the athletics department, its student-athletes and staff members. She also is the co-editor of Managing Sport Business: Global Issues and New Ideas.
Originally from Cairo, Ga., Dr. Johnson is a former student-athlete herself, having played Division I women's basketball with Hampton University. Additionally, she spent time oversees as a professional basketball player with CEEB Tordera in Barcelona. A 2014 graduate of Hampton with a degree in management/marketing, she also earned her M.S. in Sport Administration from Hampton in 2015 before going on to earn her Ph.D. in Sports Management and Policy from the University of Georgia in 2021.
