For the 34th and final time in what has been perhaps the greatest all-around career of any athlete in NJCU athletics history, senior middle blocker LIZZELLE CINTRON (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth) is the NJCU Women's Athlete of the Week. She earns the award for the ninth time this year. Additionally, she was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the 20th time in the last three seasons, the eighth time this year and the third week in a row.

In the final week of her remarkable career, Cintron averaged 6.12 points, 4.75 kills, 2.25 digs and 1.75 blocks per game as NJCU finished the year 28-6.

In a 3-1 (30-20, 29-31, 30-22, 30-19) loss to University Athletic Association (UAA) power New York University, Cintron had 19 kills (19-10-45, .200), nine digs, seven blocks, two assists and one ace as the Gothic Knights played in the ECAC Division III South Quarterfinals—the fourth consecutive year the team qualified for the post-season.

She concluded her sensational four-year career with 2,894 kills in 491 games—fifth in Division I, II and III history and third among Division III athletes. She has the most kills of any player whose career came entirely in the rally scoring era (2001-present), while leading NJCU to the most successful four-year stretch in school history with a 119-28 record in 147 matches (.810).

She is the current Division III national leader in kills per game and hitting percentage and will be vying for her fifth and sixth career national statistical titles.

In the final 2007 NJAC statistical leaders, Cintron led the league in hitting percentage (.423), kills per game (6.04), total kills (646; second place player had 461), blocks per game (1.21), total points (784.0; second place player had 535.0), points per game (7.33; second place player had 4.95), total blocks (130.0) and assisted blocks (88). She also finished sixth in solo blocks (42), eighth in total digs (374) and digs per game (3.50) and 14th in service aces per game (0.49).
