Sophomore guard KEVIN TUCKER (Jersey City, NJ/Ferris) is the NJCU Men's Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career, after leading the Knights to a 98-65 rout of Briarcliffe College on November 21, in NJCU's only game of the week.
Tucker scored a game-high 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting and 2-of-4 from three-point range, while dishing nine assists and two steals in just 21 minutes of action. He shot .625 from the field, 50 percent from three-point range and 83.3 percent from the line where he hit 5-of-6.
After defeating Briarcliffe, the Knights (3-0) have scored 90+ points in all three-games this season and now own a 216-13 record all-time when scoring 90. NJCU has won six straight and 12 of its last 13 games.
Thus far this season, Tucker is the team leader in assists per game (6.7) and steals per game (2.67), second on the Knights in scoring (14.0) and third in rebounding (4.3).
In the NJAC, Tucker leads the league in total assists, assists per game, and assist/turnover ratio (3.33; six turnovers committed), ranks tied for second in total steals, tied for third in assists per game, 11th in three-point percentage, and 14th in scoring.
