After becoming the first member of the New Jersey City University women’s soccer team to be selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week since 1995 and the first women’s soccer player in school history to be named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Metro Player of the Week, sophomore midfielder KATIE FEEHAN (Manasquan, NJ/Wall) has achieved another first. She has been named the NJCU Women's Student-Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.

Feehan had a superb week on the field, as she notched seven goals and two assists for 16 points, and led the Gothic Knights to a 2-2 week. Feehan took over the team lead in points at 28, as her season totals increased to 11 goals and six assists, while NJCU played all four of its games on the road last week.

When NJCU defeated the College of St. Elizabeth, 6-2, on Monday, October 17, Feehan became the second NJCU player to score four goals in a game this season, as she scored the first two and final two goals of the game. Just 2:35 into the contest, she drilled a cross from the left wing into the right corner. At 9:02, she gave NJCU a 2-0 edge, as she took a feed and buried a shot from 25 yards out. With NJCU leading 4-2 for more than 36 minutes in the second half, Feehan notched a much-needed insurance goal at 84:26, banging home a rebound, for her second career hat trick. She capped the scoring at 88:09 with a shot from eight yards out.

NJCU lost at Farmingdale State on October 19, but Feehan scored twice and added one assist, while carrying her team offensively. In the game, Feehan moved into second place in school history with 46 points, passing Marie Merilus (2000-03, 43 points). She also tied Merilus for second in school history with 19 goals. By the 25th minute, FSU led 3-0. Feehan drew NJCU within two, as she buried a penalty kick at 34:05, for her ninth goal of the season. After FSU went up 4-1 at the half, Feehan shaved the deficit to 4-2 at 52:42 of the second half, rifling a shot into the net from 23 yards out on the left wing. The goal for Feehan was her 10th of the season, and gave her a momentary team-lead in goals. At 69:30 she assisted on the goal which shaved the deficit to 5-3 with more than 20 minutes remaining, for her 25th point of the season.

On October 22 when NJCU shutout Lincoln University (PA) on the road, 6-0, and outshot the Lions, 48-3, Feehan added a goal and an assist to increase her team-leading point total to 28, just one shy of the single-season scoring record of 29 points by Reilly in 1994. She attempted nine shots in the game. After providing a rebound assist in the late stages of the first half, she tallied her 11th goal of the season in the 49th minute, passing Merilus on the career goals list.

In a 3-0 road loss to Ramapo on October 23, NJCU registered four shots. All four shots were on goal, and all were by Feehan.

Through October 23, Feehan ranks in the Top 10 in the NJAC in eight categories, including leading the conference in shots (69). She ranks second in shots per game (4.06), tied for fourth in points (28), fifth in points per game (1.65), tied for fifth in goals (11) and assists (6), tied for seventh in goals per game (0.65), and tied for eighth in assists per game (0.35).
