WEEK of: FEBRUARY 18-24, 2008

For the fourth time this season, freshman guard ANGELA FITZGERALD (Jersey City, NJ/Marist) is the NJCU Women's Athlete of the Week. In her final game of the season on February 20, she had a team-high 12 points, with eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in NJCU’s 61-49 loss to Montclair State University. She shot 45.5 percent from the field (5-11) in 35 minutes.
 
She concluded her freshman season averaging 14.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.9 steals and 0.5 blocks per game, shooting .357 from the field and .700 from the line in 34.2 minutes per game.
 
Fitzgerald, the conference leader in minutes per game, ranks fourth in the NJAC in scoring, sixth in rebounding, tied for sixth in defensive rebounds (5.68), eighth in assists, tied for eighth in offensive rebounding (3.00), ninth in free throw percentage, ninth in steals, and ninth in assist/turnover ratio (0.75). She was a four-time NJAC Rookie of the Week selection this year.
