Senior KRISTINA FIGUEIREDO (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) is the NJCU Women's Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and the second time in her career after averaging a 205.2 as nationally #6 ranked NJCU (46-19) went 3-2 in NCAA matches to remain in second place overall in the league, as the Gothic Knights competed in the third of four North East Collegiate Women’s Bowling Conference (NEWCBC) events.
Individually, Figueiredo was third overall in the field with a 1,026 pinfall (227-225-201-174-199) for a 205.2 average, and went 4-1 in head-to-head action to up her season record to 11-3, primarily out of the set-up position.
NJCU opened the day with a 995-850 victory over #17 ranked St. Francis College (NY), as Figueiredo bowled a 227.In match two, #8 Sacred Heart University had the highest pinfall by an opponent this season, and while NJCU also exceeded 1,000, fell to the Pioneers, 1,072-1,017.In defeat, Figueiredo tacked on a 225.
