Junior EBONY BARNES (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth) is the NJCU Women's Athlete of the Week for the sixth time in her career and the first time this season after she placed fourth overall of 49 athletes in an ECAC qualifying time of 26.68 seconds in the 200-meter dash (ECAC standard is 27.04) at the Seton Hall University Games in South Orange, NJ on December 9. She was also named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the fourth time in the last two years.

Barnes won her heat by a staggering 73/100^th of a second and had the best time of all Division II or III athletes in the meet. She was also seventh in the 500-meter run in 1:25.70.
