CRISTHIAN ACUNA
has been named the NJCU Men's Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season and the ninth time in his career after becoming the second men’s or women’s player in New Jersey City University history to record 100 career points

The reigning New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year gained the league lead with nine goals by scoring for the fourth consecutive game, as he collected two goals and one assist for five points in a 1-0-1 week.

Behind his efforts, NJCU, ranked #24 in Division III, remained unbeaten in nine consecutive games. He averaged 5.00 shots per game.

In a 1-1 double overtime tie at Ramapo College on October 1, Acuna scored his eighth goal of the season in the 68th minute on a give-and-go play before Ramapo College evened the game with 7:09 remaining in regulation.

With a goal and assist in NJCU’s 3-1 road win over The College of New Jersey on October 4, Acuna, who now has 101 career points, surpassing the century mark with 34 goals and 33 assists in his career. Only former All-American Chris Rosenthal (2003-05) has more points, with 128.

The two teams continued to play a deadlocked 1-1 game until the 73:50 mark when Acuna was awarded a penalty kick after a handball in the box. He received the assist when his rebound off the post created a goal by teammate Alex Ceron

Acuna
made up for his earlier miss when he slammed home an insurance goal at 84:14 after he eluded two defenders and put back his own rebound.
