CRISTHIAN ACUNA (East Newark, NJ/Harrison) is the NJCU Men's Athlete of the Week for the 10th time in his career and the fifth time this season after he contributed a point in all three games as the #23 ranked men's soccer team went 2-1 overall.
In a 2-1 win over Rowan University on Octover 18, provided the game-tying goal after the Profs had went ahead on an own goal.
Acuna evened the game at 25:52 with his 10th goal of the year and 35th of his career, as he dribbled past one defender near the left endline and fired a shot on a difficult angle inside the left post.
In a 2-1 loss to #15 William Paterson University on October 15,
Acuna, who had five shots in the game, provided the assist on the game-tying goal in the 53rd minute, before the Pioneers scored the go-ahead goal later. It was his 35th career assist.
In NJCU's 5-0 shutout of Brooklyn College on October 13,
Acuna was part of the NJCU scoring summary that kept the Knights unbeaten in 11 consecutive games. He lofted a cross from the right endline near the left post to set up a header goal in the 14th minute.

Acuna ranks third in the NJAC in shots (52), tied for third in goals (10), fourth in shots per game (3.47), tied for fourth in points (24), sixth in points per game (1.60), and goals per game (0.67), and tied for 10th in assists (4).

Acuna is first overall in shots per game (4.67), tied for first in points per game (2.33), second in shots (28) and points (14), tied for second in goals per game (1.00, third in goals (6), and tied for fifth in assists (2) and assists per game (0.33).
