Junior JENN MARMO (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) is the NJCU Women's co-Athlete of the Week for the third time in her career after earning All-Tournament Team accolades and leading the #8 ranked New Jersey City University women's bowling team to a 9-2 record overall and third place among 19 teams at the St. Paul’s Invitational in Richmond, VA.

Marmo, who placed third overall among 117 keglers in the standings, rolled a 1340 series on the opening day of the two-day tournament, and led NJCU to a 5-1 NCAA match tecord.

She paced NJCU with six-game totals of 188-220-285-198-191-258. She nearly tossed a perfect 300 game against Elizabeth City State University when she led off with 10 consecutive strikes before recording a 7-2 on her final attempts. The 285 was four pins shy of her career best of 289 at the ECAC Championships on March 10, 2006. Her 258 in against Shaw University gives Marmo NJCU’s best two individual scores this season. She posted a 223.33 average for the day. It was her best finish at a tournament since placing second at the 2007 ECAC Championships.

On day two of the tournament, Marmo served in the anchor position when NJCU posted it most lopsided Baker victory of the season in the second match against Livingstone College, winning by 391 pins, a 917-526 final. NJCU rolled  a program-record 277 NCAA Baker score to open the match, eclipsing the mark of 269 achieved against Vanderbilt University on November 21.

Also,  in a match that may prove important later this season if NJCU hopes to qualify for the NCAA Championship for the sixth consecutive year, Marmo was in the set-up role as the Knights registered a 145-pin win against #4 University of Central Missouri, 913-768, exceeded 213 in every game.

Marmo helped NJCU improve to 30-12 overall and finish the tournament with a 9-2 record. After a slow start to the year, the Gothic Knights are 20-4 over their last 24 matches.
