Sophomore DESERIA SANDERS (Lakewood, NJ/Long Branch) is the NJCU women’s athlete of the week for the second time this season and the fourth time in her career after earning First-Team All-New Jersey Athletic Conference honors by winning the NJAC title in the long jump on May 8 at the 2010 NJAC Track and Field Championship.

Sanders, who already owns an NCAA qualifying provisional distance this season (5.57 meters), claimed the NJAC championship in the event with a distance of 5.33 meters, winning by .05 meters in an event she placed second in as a rookie in 2009.
