Junior forward JULIA CASERES (Union, NJ/Union) is the NJCU Women's Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week to start the 2010-11 year, and the eighth time in her two-year NJCU career she has received the accolade. The award is one of four for her on the week. The Most Valuable Player of the Liberty Cup, Caseres was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the fourth time in two years and earned the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Upstate/Metro Player of the Week nod. It was also learned that she leads Division III in scoring (goals and points).

Caseres scored seven goals in two tournament games, leading the NJCU women’s soccer team to the championship of the inaugural women’s NJCU Liberty Cup, and finished the week with a remarkable three hat tricks in three games while notching 22 total points on 10 goals and two assists.
 
Caseres registered two game-winners in a 3-0 week for the Gothic Knights (4-1-0) and averaged 7.33 points and 3.33 goals per game. She also attempted 22 shots with 11 on goal.
 
Caseres has netted 13 goals and three assists for 29 points in only five games and scored in every contest this season. With three consecutive hat tricks she now has nine in her first 27 games at NJCU. During the week, Caseres moved into fourth place in NJAC history in career scoring with 154 points and 65 goals in 46 collegiate games. She recorded her 100th career point as a member of the Gothic Knights in an 8-1 win over SUNY Old Westbury and now has 43 goals and 16 assists in 27 games as the leading striker on the club.
 
In a 9-2 win over Mount Saint Vincent on September 7, she struck for eight points—three goals and two assists, on five shots (three on goal), including the game-winner, as she tallied the second, third and sixth goals of the contest.
 
In game one of the Liberty Cup on September 10, she scored all three goals for NJCU in a 3-0 win over Mount Saint Mary. She tallied eight shots (four on goal), and bagged goals in the sixth, 54th and 68th minutes to secure the win.
 
On September 11, in the 8-1 win over Old Westbury, she netted her third four-goal game in two years at NJCU with four markers for eight points, on six shots (four on goal). She was responsible for the fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth goals of the game. By doing so, she registered her fifth game of eight or more points and second of the week.
 
Caseres currently leads the NJAC in nearly every major offensive category. Through September 14, she leads the conference in points (29), points per game (5.80), goals (13), goals per game (2.60), game-winning goals (2), game-winning goals per game (0.40), shots (36) and shots per game (7.20). She is tied for third in both assists (3) and assist per game (0.60). No other player in the league has more than six goals or 12 points.
 
Caseres is within striking distance of the league’s all-time career records for both goals (69) and points (164). Each record is held by former Kean University star Noelle Meeke, who also accomplished the feat in three years.
