Junior AMY BREHM (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) is the NJCU Women’s Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week and the second time in her career after she averaged a 207.56 in nine games and an 1868 pinfall as the NJCU women’s bowling team went 7-2 overall at the first Northeast Conference (NEC) event of the 2010-11 season, including a win over nationally No. 1 ranked Fairleigh Dickinson University, to claim a share of first place in the NEC. Overall she was sixth among 73 bowlers in the individual standings.

On day one of the NEC event in Reading, Pa. on November 13, Brehm had a five-game pinfall of 1014 in the leadoff position and exceeded 200 three times and 225 twice for a 202.80 average. Her five-game line was 181-201-173-233-226. She tossed a 201 in NJCU’s 955-784 victory over Long Island University and collected a then-career best 233 in a 1088-1001 setback to #9 Kutztown University. She concluded a solid day with a 226 as NJCU knocked off the defending NEC Tournament champions, #10 Sacred Heart University, 1011-933.


On day two of the NEC event on November 14, Brehm continued to pay dividends as a starter as the
Gothic Knights went 4-0. In four games she averaged 213.50 with a high game of 247. Her four-game pinfall was 854 with scores of 194-223-247-190.

She opened the day with a 194 against St. Francis College (NY), which had begun the conference schedule unbeaten at 5-0.

In a 996-937 win over #13 Adelphi University, NJCU trailed by more than 50 pins late in the match before the Knights began tossing strikes.
Brehm led the squad with a 223 and posted five straight strikes from the seventh frame until the fill ball in the 10th frame.

In a 77-pin upset of #1 ranked and NEC preseason favorite
Fairleigh Dickinson, Brehm fired a career-high 247. She concluded the day by knocking down 190 pins in a 1092-943, 149-pin rout of Saint Francis University (Pa.).
