Senior guard CAROLINA GARCIA (Plainfield, NJ/Franklin) is the NJCU Women’s Athlete of the Week for the third time in her career and second week in a row after averaging 15.0 points per game in an 0-2 week of results. She scored 15 points in each game against New Jersey Athletic Conference competition. For the week she added four rebounds and two steals and was 4-of-4 from the foul line and .400 from three-point range (2-5). She shot 41.4 percent from the floor (12-29).

 

In a 70-42 loss to William Paterson University on January 13, Garcia collected 15 points (6-16 FG, 1-2 3FG) with three rebounds in 35 minutes. Two days later in an 82-55 setback to Richard Stock College, she shot 6-of-13 and scored 15 points in 36 minutes.

 

For the season, she is averaging 12.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.3 steals, 1.7 assists and 0.6 blocks per game. She has reached double figures in scoring in 10 of 13 games she has played this year and five games in a row, while leading the club in scoring seven times. Garcia now has 789 points and 218 assists in her career.
