Junior catcher #FRANCISCO RAMIREZ# (Jersey City, NJ/Hudson Catholic) is the NJCU Men’s Athlete of the Week for the third time in his career and the first time this season after batting .533 in a 2-3 week for the Gothic Knights. In five games he batted 8-for-15 with six RBIs, six runs, three doubles and added seven walks for a .652 on-base percentage and .733 slugging rate. He was also perfect defensively behind the plate in 28 chances. Ramirez hit safely in all five games.
 
In a wild 26-21 win at John Jay College on March 29, he helped fuel NJCU’s comeback from a 12-0 deficit. He was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs, two walks and a double. In an 11-2 road loss to Keystone College on March 30, he was 1-for-3 with a run and RBI.
 
On March 31 in NJCU’s 16-5 romp over Drew University, Ramirez was 2-for-2 with three runs, two walks, an RBI and a double. He concluded the week by going 1-for-3 with a walk in both ends of a New Jersey Athletic Conference home doubleheader loss to Rutgers-Newark on April 2. He had a double in game one and two RBIs in game two; the Scarlet Raiders won both games.
