Sophomore third baseman REBECCA SATZ (Morris Plains, NJ/Morristown) is the NJCU Women’s Athlete of the Week for the fourth time in her career and the first time this season after the 2010 New Jersey Athletic Conference and ECAC Rookie of the Year and First-Team All-NJAC selection had a dominant week for the Gothic Knights. In four games (2-2), she batted .571 (8-for-14) with six RBIs, four runs, and four doubles. She added a .625 on-base percentage and .875 slugging rate. She was also perfect defensively at third base in 10 chances.
One of the most difficult players in Division III to strikeout, Satz did not strikeout in 16 plate appearances during the week.
Her best game came in a two-run, 6-4 loss to Kean on April 2 when she batted 4-for-4 with two RBIs, one run and a double. In the first game of the doubleheader, another two-run last-inning setback (7-5), she batted 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
In a 13-0 win over Mount Saint Vincent on March 28, she was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, two doubles and a run in game one. In game two she scored twice.
Satz entered the week leading the NJAC in hits (31), doubles (9), RBIs (23) and total bases (49) and is second in batting average (.470), and third in slugging (.742).
