Junior shortstop #MEGAN GINTER# (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) of the Gothic Knight softball team is the NJCU Women’s Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this season and the fifth time in her career after batting .462 (6-for-13) over a six-game stretch for the club. Ginter amassed six walks and owned an impressive .632 on-base percentage. The leadoff hitter scored four runs and swiped three steals. She hit safely in five of the six games NJCU played.
 
On April 18, Ginter had one hit in each game of a doubleheader against Rutgers University-Camden on April 18, scoring once with one steal in the opener. Ginter was a combined 3-for-4 in two games at Ramapo College on April 19, including a 2-for-2 effort in the nightcap. On April 22 against The College of New Jersey, Ginter walked twice and scored a run in game one before batting 1-for-2 with two runs in game two, while picking up one steal in each end of the twinbill.
 
After 34 games (all starts), Ginter is batting .413 (45-109) with 34 runs and 22 RBIs, and has swiped 29 steals in 35 chances. She has collected 14 extra base hits—10 doubles, two triples and two homeruns for 65 total bases—and has garnered 21 walks and three hit by pitches for an impressive .519 on-base percentage. She has only struck out nine times in 133 plate appearances. She has a .596 slugging percentage. Defensively, she owns a .942 fielding percentage with only nine errors in 155 chances at shortstop.
 
Ginter, who ranks third in school history in stolen bases (66) and eighth in career hits (112). She currently leads NJCU in batting average, hits, runs, steals, walks, on base percentage, and triples. Ginter still leads the New Jersey Athletic Conference in runs scored and stolen bases. Among the NJAC leaders, she also ranks tied for first in walks and leads the league in plate appearances and steal attempt, fourth in on-base percentage and total hits, fifth in doubles, sixth in triples, seventh in batting average and total bases, ninth in RBIs, 11th in slugging and hit by pitch, and 16th in homers.
