Freshman middle blocker #JADE MEDLEY# (Newark, NJ/Hudson Catholic) is the NJCU Women’s Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career after a pair of solid efforts in defeat last week for the women’s volleyball team. She averaged 2.20 kills and 0.70 blocks per set while hitting .278 (22-7-54) in 10 sets over three matches.
 
Her finest effort of the week came in a 3-1 road loss at Philadelphia Biblical University on October 1, as Medley hit .529 with 10 kills and only one error in 17 attacks, while stuffing four solo blocks. It was her second career double digit kill effort.
 
In a 3-0 New Jersey Athletic Conference home loss to Rutgers-Newark on September 29, Medley landed eight kills, hit .227 (8-3-22) and added two solo blocks. She also had four kills and one solo block in a 3-0 loss at Polytechnic Institute of New York University on September 27.
 
For the season, she is averaging 1.66 kills and 0.54 blocks per set while hitting .190 overall (58-23-184) with 19 blocks, including 18 solo rejections. Among NJAC players, she currently ranks seventh in blocks, 11th in hitting percentage, and 22nd in kills.
