Nana Kofi Kusi
Kofi Kusi, a former All-NJAC standout, was involved in two key goals last week as NJCU (9-4) won both games it played—and both by 2-1 margin.
On October 3, NJCU became the first team in the country to defeat #6 ranked New York University in 10 games. NJCU trailed 1-0 with 10 minutes remaining. But with the game tied and just 3:45 to go, Kofi Kusi tracked down a rebound that ricocheted into the center of the box and stuck the rebound underneath the crossbar at the 86:15 mark. His fifth goal of the season set off a wild celebration and was the game-winner.
In a 2-1 win at Lehman College on October 1, Kofi Kusi provided the game-tying assist. Trailing 1-0, he dribbled down the left wing before sending a pass in front where Aboubacar Diawara had an open look at the net at the 21:42 mark, putting away his third goal of the season off Kofi Kusi’s first assist to tie game.
