Brittany Hoffman
Hoffman, an All-Conference choice as a freshman in 2011, recorded double figures in saves in both games last week as NJCU went 1-1—defeating King’s College (Pa.), 1-0 in one overtime period in Wilkes Barre, Pa. on October 3 before falling to at Richard Stockton College, 3-0, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on October 6.
In the win over King’s, Hoffman made 10 saves to notch her 10th career shutout as NJCU won just 77 seconds into overtime to register its fifth win of the season. Hoffman made nine saves in the second half alone to record her third shutout of the season and second in a row. She maintained an active scoreless minutes streak of 185:48 after the contest.
In the loss to Stockton, Hoffman set aside 11 shots to keep NJCU alive in the game, trailing just 1-0 at halftime. Hoffman made six first half stops and five in the second half. She reached double digits in saves for the sixth time this season and the 11th time in her career. She had her consecutive minutes scoreless streak snapped at 195:53 when Stockton scored the game-winning goal in the 11th minute. It proved to be the fifth longest scoreless minutes streak in school history.
