Andrew Lopes
In a 1-2 week for the Gothic Knights, Lopes was the top offensive producer, providing three assists while starting all three games as a right wing and seeing 236 minutes of action. He had four shots on the week with two on goal.
On October 15, Lopes helped NJCU guarantee its first .500 or better season since 2008 when he contributed two assists in a 3-2 non-conference road victory at Baruch College. Lopes, one of the few regular starters to play more than half the game, set up NJCU’s second and third goals of the game—his fifth and sixth assists of the season. NJCU gained a 2-0 lead at the 37:00 mark off Lopes’ cross inside the box, and his thru ball with two minutes remaining in the half made it a 3-0 game. He tallied 69 minutes of action.
On October 20 in a 6-3 New Jersey Athletic Conference loss at The College of New Jersey, Lopes helped NJCU gain a 1-0 lead early in the 17th minute, as he took the ball off transition and dribbled down the right side before slotting a pass for a one-timer and his seventh assist of the season. Lopes also played a full 90 minutes with two shots credited in a 3-1 NJAC home loss to Rowan University on October 17.
