Alnisa Hernaiz
Hernaiz earned her first career All-Tournament Team accolades at the Wheaton College (Mass.) Cheryl Warren-Powers ’95 Memorial Tournament by averaging a double-double of 13.0 rebounds, 11.5 points with 3.0 steals, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 assists per game.
Hernaiz registered her 10th career double-double, 18th and 19th career double-digit rebounding efforts and 16th career double figure scoring outbursts during the season opening tournament, shooting .357 (10-28).
In a 67-29 consolation game rout of Lesley University on November 18, she scored 17 points with 13 rebounds, five steals, and two blocks shooting 7-of-16 from the field, while grabbing seven offensive caroms in 29 minutes. Hernaiz had four key points during an initial 16-0 first half run. The Knights would get two more baskets by Hernaiz, who had 11 points and eight rebounds in the first half alone, as the streak surged to 22-2 and the score, 33-11.
In a 54-48 loss to 2012 NCAA Tournament qualifier SUNY Oneonta on November 17—the eventual tournament champion—Hernaiz grabbed a game-best 13 rebounds (10 defensively)—her 18th career double-digit rebounding effort and added six points.
