Muhammad, who also earned the award on November 19 and November 26, averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks per game while shooting .500 from the field (11-22) and .818 from the free throw line (9-11) as NJCU (3-7) split a pair of games last week.

Muhammad reached double figures in scoring in both games last week—the sixth and seventh times in the first 10 games of his career he has done so. He also led NJCU in scoring for the sixth and seventh times thus far.

On December 15 in a 62-51 win over Landmark Conference foe Susquehanna University, Muhammad helped NJCU snap a three-game losing streak and bettered his previous career high of 19 points with 21 markers, becoming the first Gothic Knight to score 20 points in a game this season. He poured in 14 in the second half and finishing 7-of-11 from the floor and a perfect 7-for-7 from the foul line. Muhammad only missed one two-point shot, matched his career-high with eight rebounds and doubled his previous career best with four assists. He added two steals in 30 minutes. Muhammad also scored 10 points in a 58-48 NJAC loss at Montclair State University on December 12.

Muhammad became the first Gothic Knight to lead NJCU in points, rebounds and assists in the same game since January 17, 2012. Furthermore, he became the first Gothic Knight to lead NJCU in points, rebounds, assists and steals in the same game since December 3, 2008.

In 10 games and 10 starts this season, Muhammad is averaging 13.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks per game, having tallied 134 points, 54 rebounds (23 offensive, 31 defensive), 15 assists, 13 steals and three blocks in 259 minutes. He is shooting .429 from the field (48-112), 8-of-35 from three-point distance and .698 from the foul stripe (30-43). He leads NJCU in points per game, rebounds per game and assists per game and is the lone player averaging double figures in scoring.

Muhammad, the top scoring freshman in the NJAC, currently ranks 10th overall in the league in point production through December 16. In other league categories he ranks 11th in offensive rebounding (2.3 per game) and 16th in rebounding.
