In a 51-46 opening round win over Valley Forge Christian College on January 2, the 5-foot-8 guard reached double figures for the second time this season, knocking down 3-of-8 from three-point distance (4-11 FG) to finish with 11 points while doubling his previous career high in rebounding with eight (six defensive) and a pair of assists.
In an 80-72 overtime loss to host Moravian in the tournament finals on January 3, Simmons reached double figures for the second straight game and third time this season, finishing with 10 points (3-5 FG) and four assists in 20 minutes before fouling out with three minutes left in regulation.
On January 5 in a 69-64 overtime home loss to William Paterson University, he reached double figures for the third straight game and fourth time this season, netting 16 points (5-9 FG; 2-4 3FG; 4-6 FT) with five assists and four steals in 36 minutes.
For the season in 13 games (eight starts), Simmons has collected 90 points, 30 rebounds, 24 assists, 16 steals and one block in 244 minutes—averaging 6.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.1 blocks per game. He is shooting .456 from the floor (31-68), .417 from three-point distance (10-24) and .621 from the line (18-29) overall.
