Senior stopper REEM HANA is the NJCU Women's Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career after she scored twice and dished out two assists for a six-point effort, as the New Jersey City University women’s soccer team outshot Medgar Evers College, 41-7, and routed the Cougars, 9-2, on September 21.

After NJCU tied the game at 1-1, the Knights took the lead for good as Hana, who had one goal all of last season, used her long-range abilities to score the go-ahead tally, as she lofted a shot from 35 yards away, over the keeper and into the top left corner at 36:32 of the first half.

Her thru ball that opened a breakaway at 43:53 helped the Knights build a 3-1 lead at the half, and proved to be the eventual winner.

She also assisted on the fourth goal at 50:59 of the second half, with a chip onto the left wing. After setting up two goals, she added another of her own at 66:04 with her second unassisted goal of the game and team-best eighth point of the season, as she again lofted a shot from 35 yards that found a home in the top of the goal. It was the first of two goals in 44 seconds and three in 1:03 for the Knights.

On the season, the senior tri-captain leads the club in scoring with eight points, and is tied for the team lead in assists with four. She currently ranks tied for second in the New Jersey Athletic Conference in both assists and assists per game (0.50).
