Named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time in her career; it is the fifth career NJAC weekly accolade for NJCU’s tri-captain.
Tallied her fourth hat trick as a Gothic Knight on September 2 in NJCU’s 5-2 win over the City College of New York.
Vargas moved into the top five in goals in the history of the NJCU women’s soccer program and with seven points equaled her single-game collegiate high.
Produced goals in the eighth, 51^st and 52^nd minutes to propel the Gothic Knights (1-1-0) to their first win of the 2018 season.
In two games, she had eight shots, with five on goal, and played a full 180 minutes at center mid.
Vargas netted the 28th, 29th and 30th goals of her 32-game career, including a pair of unassisted tallies.
With her team up 3-2, assisted on a key insurance goal in the 83rd minute to cement the win.
