Junior two-time All-American and Gothic Knight anchor VICKI SPRATFORD (Hopelawn, NJ/Woodbridge) is the NJCU Women's Athlete of the Week for the sixth time in the last two years and the second time this season, after she won the singles championship of the FDU Holiday Jamboree in Glassboro, NJ on December 28.

Spratford won her second singles tournament championship of the season, as she took a title for the fifth time in her career and placed among the Top 5 in an event for a ninth instance. She also won the Jeannette Lee Invitational in November.
 
The tournament opened on December 27 with a three-game singles tournament qualifying round, in which the Top 36 of 93 keglers advanced to Thursday’s singles final. In all, four of five active NJCU bowlers advanced, led by Spratford, who rolled scores of 245, 215 and 258 for a 718 series and the No. 1 seed heading into the finals. It was her second 700 series this season.
 
Thursday’s singles final was in a match-play format, with six bowlers on a pair of lanes. Athletes could earn 10 bonus points for every player they defeated head-to-head on their set. Spratford posted a 182 in game one, earning 10 bonus points. She concluded the singles championship with games of 201 and 247, and defeated all competitors in the two games for 100 additional bonus points. Including bonus pins, Spratford tallied 1458 during the singles championship. She had a regular pinfall of 1348 and a six-game average of 224.66.
 
In the final individual standings, which included seven NCAA games from the opening day of the tournament, Spratford placed second overall among 93 individuals.
