Edric De Paula is the NJCU Men’s Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career after scoring the game-winning goal in NJCU’s 3-2 overtime win over Mount Saint Vincent on September 23 that extended the team’s school record start to a season to 9-0-0. De Paula’s goal—a bicycle kick played off his chest—was featured nationally on ESPN SportsCenter as the No. 2 play in the entire country—the highest NJCU has ever been featured on the ESPN Top 10. De Paula played just four minutes in the game—all in overtime—after he sat out the first 90 minutes due to injury. It was his only shot of the week.
