Aldahir Cazun is the NJCU Men’s Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career. In a heartbreaking 1-0 loss at William Paterson on September 28, Cazun tied his career high for the second time this season with 13 saves—his fifth career effort of 10 or more saves. 


Despite being outshot 9-1 in the first half, he made six saves in a scoreless first 45 minutes and seven more in the second half. He smothered a penalty kick by junior midfielder Dromo Quaye in the 82nd minute to keep it a 1-0 game. He faced 21 shots in the game and was only beat on a double assisted play. Cazun once again tied his career-high for saves with 13, a figure he has now reached twice in 2019, as he also had 13 saves in the Knights’ NJAC opener against Ramapo last week.
