Mikeera Brown returned to her alma mater to join the 2018-19 New Jersey City University women’s basketball coaching staff. This is the first coaching position for Brown, who graduated NJCU in the spring of 2018 with a B.S. in Computer Science.
Brown played her freshman year for Kean University, appearing in 24 games and averaging 3.5 points per game. She transferred to NJCU for her sophomore season, averaging 6.8 points and 4.1 rebounds for the Gothic Knights and winning the NJCU Athlete of the Week on November 30, 2015.
Brown played her high school basketball for Hudson Catholic in Jersey City, where she was a four-year varsity player. She was named Honorable Mention All-Region her first three years before being named First-Team All-Region her senior year.
"The fact that I'm still around basketball, having to give it up and now being able to come back to it has been really rewarding," Brown said. "I am grateful and blessed for that opportunity."
