EWING, NJ…The College of New Jersey, ranked No. 2 in Division III, received a hat trick from freshman midfielder Erin Cunliffe (Lakewood, NJ/Lakewood) and nine other players notched one goal as TCNJ registered an impressive 12-0 victory over New Jersey City University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference women’s soccer game at Lions’ Stadium.
              
TCNJ improves to 13-0 overall and 7-0 in the NJAC, while owning a 50-1 margin in shots in this victory. NJCU falls to 2-11 overall and 0-7 in the league. The Lions led 6-0 at the half.
The Lions have now tallied 12 shutouts and have now outscored their opponents by a 54-2 margin.
The Lions’ leading scorer, sophomore forward Dana DiBruno (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) added her 14th goal of the year.  
 
Also scoring for TCNJ were senior forward Brittny Boyd (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown), sophomore defender Courtney Krol (Howell, NJ/Howell), freshman forward Allie Schilling (Somerdale, NJ/Triton), junior midfielder Caitlin Brennan (Clark, NJ/Arthur L. Johnson), sophomore defender Tori-Anne Cavallo (Cedar Grove, NJ/West Essex Regional), sophomore midfielder Christine Cavallo  (Cedar Grove, NJ/West Essex Regional), freshman defender Jillian Casey (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern) and freshman midfielder Nicole Papola (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa).
 
Freshman midfielder Coleen Weber (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview), freshman defender Lindsay Ashton (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North), Papola, and Casey all added assists. Eight of the 12 goals were unassisted.
 
Senior goalie Alissa Kacar (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) and freshman Kristen Kuda (Thorafare, NJ/West Deptford) shared in the shutout victory, playing 18:11 and 71:49, respectively. Kuda made one save.
 
NJCU sophomore goalie KASANDRA ZIENIUK (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne), the Gothic Knight’s No. 1 keeper, was making her season debut in net after a broken wrist forced her to play most of the season as a midfield. She made 19 saves in the contest, just one shy of her career high of 20.
NJCU will visit Morristown, NJ for a 3:30 pm game against College of St. Elizabeth on Monday, October 17.
