KATIE FEEHAN (Manasquan, NJ/Wall) scored twice and added one assist as
New Jersey City University attempted to battle back from a 4-1 halftime deficit, but fell two goals short, and dropped a non-conference road contest to Farmingdale State University, 5-3, on Thursday afternoon.
NJCU falls to 3-12 overall, while Farmingdale climbs over .500 at 6-5-1. The Rams have won the last three meetings, and lead the all-time series, 3-2-1. Farmingdale outshot NJCU, 21-12.
Feehan moved into second place in school history with 46 points, passing Marie Merilus (2000-03, 43 points), and is four points shy of matching the single-season scoring record of 29 points by Michelle Reilly in 1994. She also tied Merilus for second in school history with 19 goals.
Senior midfielder Natalie Budinich (Commack, NY/Commack) scored twice and added an assist for the Rams, matching Feehan with a game-high five points.
Sophomore midfielder Kaitlin O’Brien (East Islip, NY/East Islip) put the Rams on top just 2:15 into the contest, when she finished a cross from Budinich for her first goal of the season.
Budinich followed with two unassisted goal at 22:31 and 24:18, as she swiped balls from the Gothic Knights, and put the Rams ahead 3-0 after the pair of breakaway tallies, her ninth and 10th scores of the year.
Feehan drew NJCU within two, as she buried a penalty kick at 34:05, for her ninth goal of the season.
Sophomore defender Angela Barea (Levittown, NY/Island Trees) extended the FSU lead to 4-1 before halftime, as she netted a free kick from 35 yards out at 38:17, for her third goal of the season.
Feehan shaved the deficit to 4-2 at 52:42 of the second half, as she received a thru ball from midfield from freshman defender

Feehan rifled into the net from 23 yards out on the left wing.

The goal for
Feehan was her 10
th of the season, and gave her a momentary team-lead in goals, after sophomore forward
KELLY DALY (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) had led the club since the season opener on September 3. The assist for
Stewart was the first point of her career.
FSU added an insurance goal at 66:20, when junior midfielder Nicole Argent (Livingston Manor, NY/Livingston Manor) turned a steal into her second goal of the season, finishing a shot from 15 yards out.
Daly attempted to draw the Knights closer ay 69:30, when she lifted a pass from Feehan into the right corner of the net from the left wing, making the deficit 5-3. The goal was her 10th of the year, again regaining a share of the team lead. The assist for Feehan was her team-leading 25th point of the campaign. However, NJCU was unable to score again in the final 20:30 of action, as FSU earned the two-goal victory.

KASANDRA ZIENIUK (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) made five saves in defeat for NJCU. FSU rookie keeper
Nicole Parker (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) collected three saves.
NJCU returns to action on Saturday, October 22 at 2 p.m. when it visits Lincoln University, PA, for a non-conference game against Lincoln University.
