JERSEY CITY, NJ…In the first New Jersey Athletic Conference women’s soccer game anywhere in the league this season, Richard Stockton College received three goals from sophomore forward Katie Henderson (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and one goal and three assists from sophomore midfielder Val Davison (Cranbury, NJ/Princeton), as the Ospreys defeated New Jersey City University, 9-0, at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field.
              
Stockton, which entered the game losing four straight games, including three contests by 1-0 decisions against difficult opponents, earn its first win of the season (1-5-1, 1-0-0 NJAC), while NJCU (1-4-0, 0-1-0 NJAC) drops its fourth straight game. Stockton improves to 11-0 all-time in the series.
              
The Ospreys led 6-0 at the half on a 22-0 shots margin, before adding three second half tallies, and finishing with a 36-7 edge in shots.
              
Freshman midfielder Jaime Heller (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) scored twice for Stockton. Senior defender Lyndsay Hehner (Howell, NJ/Howell), freshman midfielder Amber Beyerle (Shamong, NJ/Shawnee), and sophomore forward Katie Pestritto (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) each added single goals for RSC.
              
Freshman forward Jaime White (Howell, NJ/Howell), freshman midfielder Leanne Ternosky (Roxbury, NJ/Morris Catholic), and freshman defender Stefany Emerson (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern) each added an assist for the victors.
              
Davison gave RSC a 1-0 lead at 7:42 when she stole a dropped cross in the box by the NJCU goalkeeper. That goal ended a 401:01 scoreless string for the Ospreys. It was her first goal of the year.
              
Davison assisted on the second and third goals with corner kicks that Heller and Henderson each netted inside the left post at 10:54 and 14:11, respectively. It was Heller’s first career goal.
              
Heller gave RSC a 4-0 lead at 19:54 with a shot from the right wing that deflected in off the upper right post.
              
Hehner made it 5-0 at 23:48 when she took a pass from White and banked in a shot off the right side of the crossbar, for her first goal of the season. Beyerle tallied her first career foal at 33:08 when she one-timed a corner kick from Ternosky inside the right post from three feet out.
              
Henderson made it 7-0 at 55:27 of the second half, when she received a thru ball from midfield from Emerson and scored inside the left post on a 1-on-1 breakaway with the NJCU keeper. Less than two minutes later, Henderson finished her hat trick with her fourth goal of the season. The blast on a breakaway from the left wing at 57:45 was created on a thru ball from Davison.
              
Pestritto capped the RSC scoring at 73:27, when her steal on the left wing created a 1-on-1 breakaway.
              
Sophomore goalkeeper ADRIELE DaSILVA (Newark, NJ/Newark-East Side) made eight saves in defeat for NJCU in 76:21, before sophomore ALEXIS CHISARI (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) went unchallenged in her first career action in net (13:39).
              
Senior Becky Baisley (Browns Mills, NJ/Pemberton) did not face a shot in 33:45, before freshman Danielle Nettleton (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) stopped three shots in 56:15.
              
NJCU will host Rowan University on Saturday, September 17 at 1pm in a NJAC contest at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field.
