JACQUELINE LeBLANC (Westfield, NJ/Westfield), the reigning New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week contributed 11 kills and 13 digs, as
New Jersey City University’s women’s volleyball, ranked fifth in the NJAC pre-season poll, easily swept Ramapo College, fourth in the poll, 30-22, 30-16, 30-24, in a NJAC match at the Bill Bradley Center, late Tuesday.
NJCU (5-4, 1-0 NJAC) was victorious in its first conference match of the season, while the Roadrunners fell to 7-5 and 0-2 in the league. Ramapo leads the all-time series, 17-14, but NJCU has won the last five meetings since 2000. The Knights hit .270 as a team, versus .019 for Ramapo.
Cintron led the match with 16 kills (16-4-29) and six blocks, and added nine digs while hitting .414. She has 971 career kills, and should become only the second woman at NJCU to reach the 1000 kill mark either Thursday or Saturday. She also is 19 blocks shy of the career record of 203.
LeBlanc continued to excel as a first-year collegiate player, tallying 11 kills (11-5-26, .231) with two aces and the 13 digs.

GLORINELL PEREZ (Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth) led both teams with 18 digs, adding five kills.
Junior middle blocker Samantha Wejnert (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) led the Roadrunners with 10 kills.
NJCU plays its first home match of the season on Thursday, September 22 at 7pm against Rutgers University-Newark in a key New Jersey Athletic Conference showdown.
