MAURICE WASHINGTON (Orlando, FL/Edgewater (FL)) delivered 29 assists and nine digs, but the
New Jersey City University men’s volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision (33-31, 30-24, 30-26) to Baruch College in a non-conference match late Wednesday at the ARC Arena.
NJCU failed to record the 250th victory in program history while opening its 17th season of intercollegiate men’s volleyball. Baruch (3-1) ended a two-match losing streak to NJCU.

The Bearcats were led by junior Greg Waldvogel (West Hempstead, NY/West Hempstead) with 19 kills and eight digs, while Danial Levent (Forest Hills, NY/American Studies) had 13 kills and four block assists. Senior King Cheng (Great Neck, NY/Great Neck South) dished out a season-high 51 assists. Luke Sikorskyy (Lviv, Ukraine/Grover Cleveland) notched 10 kills.
NJCU will play its first North East Collegiate Volleyball Association Metro Division match of the season when it travels to Annandale-on-Hudson, NY to meet new division member Bard College, when the Knights return to action on Monday, January 30 at 7 p.m.
