KING’S BLANKS NJCU IN NON-CONFERENCE WOMEN’S ACTION

WILKES-BARRE, PA…King’s College received a hat trick from freshman forward Adrienne Stine (York, PA/Northeastern) and two goals and an assist from sophomore midfielder Lisa McMillan (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa), en route to an 8-0 victory over New Jersey City University, in a non-conference women’s soccer game on Monday afternoon. It was the first meeting between the schools in women’s soccer.
 
NJCU falls to 3-12-0, with three straight losses, while the Monarchs improve to 5-7-2, snapping a four-game losing streak. King’s matched its season high for goals in a game, while outshooting NJCU, 27-5.
 
McMillan gave King’s a lead it would not relinquish at 16:39 of the first half, to end a Monarch scoreless drought of 376:39. She had five points in the game including her seventh and eighth goals of the game. Stine has nine goals for the Monarchs overall after scoring the third, sixth, and seventh goals of the day.
 
King’s received one goal and two assists from freshman midfielder Kelly Puffenberger (Dallas, PA/Bishop Hoban), and single goals from freshmen midfielders Sara Coletta (Rockville Center, NY/South Side) and Brittney Hillard (Dallas, PA/Lake Lehman).
 
The Monarchs also received two assists from junior midfielder Kaitlin Wilcox (Effort, PA/Pocono Mountain)—both coming on the game’s first two tallies. King’s scored two times in 1:51 to take a 2-0 lead, and later added two more quick tallies for four goals in a span of 5:02.
 
NJCU junior midfielder KATIE FEEHAN (Manasquan, NJ/Wall) and senior midfielder REEM HANA (Iselin, NJ/JFK Memorial) each posted two shots for the Gothic Knights.
 
In defeat for NJCU, junior goalkeeper ALEXIS CHISARI (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) made eight saves. Freshman keeper Rachel Donatiello (Hatfield, PA/North Penn) and junior keeper Christine Uhl (Holtsville, NY/Saint Anthony) each made two saves while playing 50 and 40 minutes, respectively, in the shutout.
 
NJCU returns to action on Wednesday, October 18 at 3 p.m. when it hosts Farmingdale State University in a non-conference game at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field.
