REGIONALLY-RANKED RICHARD STOCKTON DOWNS NJCU IN WOMEN’S ACTION

POMONA, NJ…Richard Stockton College, the No. 6 ranked team in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Mid-Atlantic Region poll, received two goals in an eight-second of the 23rd minute from sophomore midfielder Amber Beyerle (Shamong, NJ/Shawnee) as the Ospreys defeated New Jersey City University, 9-0, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest.
 
Stockton improves to 7-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the NJAC, while the Gothic Knights fall to 2-8-0, 0-5-0,
with their third straight loss. Stockton leads the all-time series, 12-0.
 
Beyerle’s goals at 22:13 and 22:21 of the first half gave Stockton a 2-0 lead and set an NCAA Division
III record for consecutive goals by the same player, one second faster than the mark of nine seconds by Jodi Johnson of St. Scholastica on September 4, 1999. It also tied for the second fastest consecutive goals by the same team.
 
Freshman midfielder Katelyn Reiter (Union, NJ/Union) scored her first three collegiate goals, notching a hat-trick for Stockton. 
 
Junior forward Allysa Bollaci (South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick), sophomore midfielder Jamie Heller (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn), and sophomore forward Jacquie Shields (Woodbury, NJ/West Deptford) all scored their first goals of the season.
 
Sophomore midfielder Heather Martin (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) added two assists and freshman midfielder Courtney Dougherty (Ocean City, NJ/Ocean City) also netted one goal for the Ospreys.
 
Heller, Bollaci, freshman forward Lauren O’Shea (Petersburg, NJ/Ocean City), junior defender Sharon Davis (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) and freshman defender Shanel Fredericks (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern) each added single assists for RSC. O’Shea and Davis assisted on Beyerle’s first two goals.
 
Stockton sophomore keeper Alex Rogers (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) recorded two saves on the day while playing the first 33:35 of the game before sophomore Danielle Nettleton (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) added three saves for the Ospreys in 56:25. 
 
Junior ALEXIS CHISARI (Secaucus, NJ/Secaucus) made eight saves for NJCU. Stockton outshot the Knights, 22-5, including 16-2 in the first period.
 
NJCU will next play on Tuesday, October 3 at 7 p.m. with a non-conference game at Mount Saint Mary’s College in Newburgh, NY.
