KELLY REILLY BREAKS CAREER SHUTOUTS RECORD; JENNIFER ALBUJA BECOMES SINGLE-SEASON POINTS LEADER
JERSEY CITY, NJ…Grad student
KATIE FEEHAN (Manasquan, NJ/Wall) scored twice and added an assist to become the all-time career leader in goals, assists and points in
New Jersey City University women’s soccer history, and freshman striker
JENNIFER ALBUJA (Union City, NJ/Hoboken) had three goals, including her 18
th of the year, and an assist to break the single-season points record, as the Gothic Knights routed City College of New York, 9-0, in a non-conference women’s soccer game at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field. NJCU outshot CCNY, 27-2.
With the win, the Gothic Knights are riding the second winningest season in program history at 6-6-0, three wins shy of the 1994 record of nine victories. CCNY, which had allowed only 16 goals in six games entering the contest, falls to 2-5 overall. NJCU leads the all-time series, 7-1 and have outscored the Beavers, 55-6. All six of NJCU’s victories this season have been shutouts.
Freshman keeper
KELLY REILLY (Pennsville, NJ/Pennsville Memorial) made one save to notch her sixth shutout of the season, and in the process, became the program’s career leader in the category in only her first season at the University. She eclipsed
Michelle Vance (1993-94) and
Amanda Cobb (1997-00) on the career list.

MICHELLE VASQUEZ (Harrison, NJ/Harrison) each registered hat tricks in the game, marking only the second time in program history that two players collected at least three goals in the same game; the other instance was in 2003, also against CCNY.
In all,
Vasquez and
Albuja scored three times,
Feehan scored twice, and freshman defender
ERICA BUONACQUISTA (Aberdeen, NJ/Bayonne), who enjoyed an All-State career at Bayonne High School, but who has been hampered by injuries as a collegiate rookie, added her first career goal and points, playing in her fourth game.
NJCU had single assists from
Albuja,
Feehan, freshman forward
ARIANE EMABAT (Jersey City, NJ/Dickinson), sophomore defender
JESSICA IRIZARRY (Perth Amboy, NJ/Perth Amboy), junior midfielder
MEGAN MURPHY (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick), and freshman defender
ASHLEY WELCH (Pennsville, NJ/Pennsville Memorial).

Carine Carvalheiro (2001, 2003-05) for the all-time program lead with 28 goals, 21 assists and 77 points.
Feehan is now also tied for third in career games played (67).
Albuja notched her third hat trick of the season and sixth multiple goal game of the year to extend her own single-season record of 18 goals, and combined with two assists, becomes NJCU’s single-season record-holder with 38 points. Ironically, on a day where Feehan broke three career records, it was Feehan’s 2005 single-season mark of 34 points that Albuja eclipsed.
Albuja attempted 11 shots in the game, giving her 86 in 12 games, breaking the single-season school standard for shots set by Feehan in 2004 (79). Albuja moved into a tie for fourth in school history in career goals (18) and tied for fifth in career points (38).
Vasquez, who scored three times as a freshman in 2006, scored her first three goals of the 2007 season in the first half, two of which were unassisted. She scored two goals in a span of 31 seconds

Albuja tallied her 16
th goal of the year at 11:03,
Vasquez capped her hat trick at 12:16, and
Albuja netted her 17
th goal at 12:35. The three goals in 1:32 were just two seconds shy of the single-game school record for three fastest goals.
The final two goals were achieved in a span of 19 seconds, as the Knights reeled off five total goals in 4:21. NJCU outshot the Beavers, 19-2 at halftime. The second half, which ended as an official game at 72:13 after CCNY suffered several injuries to field players, saw the Knights score on four of eight shots.
After Buonacquista tallied her first career goal at 54:30, playing just 10 minutes in the game, Feehan broke the all-time goals and assists records at 58:42, as Welch contributed her third assist of the year, crossing a pass from the right wing that allowed Feehan to fire in a one-timer from the right side of the box for the record-breaker.
At 61:47, Feehan became the all-time assists leader, when she fed a pass up the middle, which Albuja launched into the upper right corner of the net from 22 yards out—her 18th goal of the year. Albuja returned the favor at 63:44 with an assist as Feehan knocked a breakaway in for her fourth goal of the year and 30th of her career. In defeat, CCNY freshman keeper Angelika Slabiak (Zamosc, Poland/LaGuardia CC) had five saves.
NJCU is back in action on Wednesday, October 10 at 4 p.m. when it hosts Rutgers-Newark in a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest. CCNY next plays Medgar Evers College on October 8.
