ROBERT GRIFFITHS (Edison, NJ/John P. Stevens) hit .500 with 13 kills and seven blocks, as
New Jersey City University swept Mount Saint Vincent, 3-0, by scores of 30-23, 30-26, 30-21, in a North East Collegiate Volleyball Association Metro Division match, played late Friday at Hayes Gymnasium.
With the win, NJCU improves to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the Metro Division. Mount Saint Vincent falls to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the league. NJCU gains a 19-18 lead in the all-time series. NJCU hit .462 in game three (15-3-26).
Overall, NJCU had 13.5 team blocks, as five players were responsible for at least two block assists.
Griffiths hit .500 with the team-high 13 kills and only three errors in 20 attacks, along with seven block assists. The 10 block assists by
Crespo are the most by an NJCU player since
DAMON LASALLE had the same number exactly one year earlier, against Lehman College on February 2, 2006.

THIAGO SIQUEIRA (Newark, NJ/Science) had nine kills and eight digs. Freshman middle hitter
JOSE SILVA (Harrison, NJ/Harrison) posted five kills (5-1-11, .364) and four assisted blocks.
The Dolphins received 15 kills (15-6-32, .281) and seven digs from junior outside hitter Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue), and nine kills from sophomore outside hitter T.J. Pufahl (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage). Sophomore setter Chris Dotoratos (Bronx, NY/Salesian) had 28 assists and four blocks. Senior middle blocker Dan Williams (Brick Township, NJ/St. Rose) contributed 11 digs, seven kills and five blocks, while junior middle blocker Tanner Munroe (Milford, CT/Foran) had seven blocks (six assisted).
NJCU is back in action on Sunday, February 4 in an NECVA Metro Division tri-match, hosted by Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY. NJCU will face Bard College for the second time this week at 1 p.m. before meeting Yeshiva University at 3 p.m.
