JENNIFER ALBUJA (Union City, NJ/Hoboken) became the first women's soccer player in
New Jersey City University history and the third between the men's and women's program to reach 100 career points, and did so in just 33 games, as she scored her 23
rd goal of the season, but #14 ranked Rowan University remained undefeated this season with a 4-1 victory over the Gothic Knights in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on Saturday night.
With the win, Rowan, ranked third in the Mid-Atlantic Region and 14th by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, improves to 11-0-1 and 6-0-1 in the NJAC, while leading the all-time series, 11-0. NJCU (7-8, 0-7 NJAC) falls below .500 for the first time this season.
Albuja now has 47 goals and six assists for 100 points in only 33 games. She joins men's soccer All-Americans Chris Rosenthal (2003-05, 128 points) and current standout Cristhian Acuna (2005-08, 105 points) on the all-time list and trails only Rosenthal (51 goals) for most goals among all soccer players at NJCU.
Rowan led 3-0 at half and outshot the Gothic Knights, 36-7, including 18-1 in the opening period. Sophomore forward Michelle Carrocino (Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway Regional) put the Profs ahead with her 13th goal of the year just 2:15 into the game off a free kick to put RU ahead to stay.
The Profs increased the lead to 2-0 at 20:49 as freshman midfielder Nina Fragoso (Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Regional) tallied her fourth goal of the year off a cross from junior midfielder Krista Verzi (Delran, NJ/Delran) at 20:49.
Sophomore forward Dana Ross (Delran, NJ/Delran) made it 3-0 at 36:39 with her fifth goal of the season, as she beat a defender on the unassisted play.
Verzi, who previously provided her fourth assist of the year, tallied her fourth goal when she scored at 60:52 to make it 4-0. The assist was awarded to junior forward Mandy Silvesti (Turnersville, NJ/Washington Township).
Albuja reached the century mark at 84:50. Freshman forward

Albuja dribbled through several defenders and with Rowan junior goalkeeper
Sarah Volkomer (Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) trying to cut off the shot, rocketed a shot into the upper left corner of the net. NJCU has scored three goals against Rowan all-time and all have come off the foot of
Albuja.

KELLY REILLY (Pennsville, NJ/Pennsville Memorial) finished with five saves in 70:09. Junior keeper
DANIELLE BARKER (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) played the final 19:51 and did not face a shot.
Volkomer made two saves for the Profs.
NJCU will return to action on Tuesday, October 21 at 4 p.m. when it hosts College of Saint Elizabeth in a non-conference game at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field.
