JERSEY CITY, NJ…Senior right-hander
ANDREA DELUCREZIA (Belleville, NJ/St. Mary's-Rutherford) tied her career high by striking out 10 batters and allowed just three hits in game one while senior pitcher/designated player/first baseman
LACEY SKOWRONSKI (Bayonne, NJ/Holy Family Academy) fanned six batters while tossing a two-hitter in game two as
New Jersey City University routed Lehman College, 11-0 and 17-0, in a non-conference softball doubleheader on Thursday at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex. Both games ended after four and a half innings due to the eight-run rule.
NJCU (8-12) snapped a six-game losing streak while defeating the Lightning (0-9) for the 16
th consecutive meeting. NJCU, which had scored a combined 59 runs in the last four games with Lehman, leads the all-time series, 18-2.

**************GAME 1: New Jersey City University 11, Lehman College 0**************
In game one, Delucrezia struck out the first six batters of the game and did not allow a hit until the fourth inning. All three hits she surrendered were singles, and she faced the minimum of 12 batters through four innings. In all, she threw just 69 pitches in 5.0 innings, struck out 10 and walked only one for her fourth win of the year (4-6). She matched her career high by posting 10 K's in a game for the fourth time—last accomplishing the feat in 2007—and notched her seventh career shutout.
NJCU scored all the offense it would need in the first inning when it plated eight runs by virtue of only two hits. The Knights sent 14 batters to the plate, walked six times, were hit by four pitches, and advanced on five wild pitches.
When NJCU had a chance to swing the bat, freshman centerfielder
NICOLE SARICA (Linden, NJ/Linden) scored three times in a 2-for-3 outing and
Hall was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two walks.
Delfino, the leadoff hitter, drew three walks and scored twice.
NJCU walked 10 times, was hit by pitch three times and seven of nine players scored. The Knights also advanced on eight wild pitches. The Knights added a single run in the second inning and two more in the fourth, but only needed to collect five hits in the victory.
Freshman Natalie Martinez (Brooklyn, NY/Bushwick) took the loss (0-3). She allowed 11 runs (seven earned) with the 10 walks and five hits and had two strikeouts.
**************GAME 2: New Jersey City University 17, Lehman College 0**************
In game two, all nine players in the lineup scored at least one run, eight had a hit, and six collected multiple hits. But in addition to the bats, Skowronski was brilliant on the mound, tossing her fourth career shutout while notching a season-high six strikeouts versus one walk. She allowed just two hits and threw 58 pitches and didn't allow a hit until the fourth inning. It was the third time this season she has allowed three hits or less in a complete game and marked her fourth career two-hitter or better performance. She improved to 4-6 overall this season.
Offensively NJCU chalked up 16 hits, led by junior center fielder

Hall and freshman shortstop
MEGAN GINTER (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) were each 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Delfino scored three times in a 2-for-4, one RBI outing.
Skowronski went 1-for-3 with three RBIs and a triple.
Also for NJCU sophomore catcher/first baseman
TAYLOR LANG (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) finished 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI and sophomore leftfielder
STEPHANIE GOMEZ (Belleville, NJ/Belleville) finished 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
NJCU scored twice in the first inning and added six runs in the second inning as 12 batters came to the plate. A nine-run third inning in which 13 more batters came to the plate, cemented the final 17-0 margin.
Martinez (0-4) took the loss, allowing 17 runs (16 earned) and 15 hits on six walks and two strikeouts.
NJCU returns to action on Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. when it hosts Rutgers University-Camden in a New Jersey Athletic Conference doubleheader. Lehman hosts New Rochelle on April 3 at 3:30 p.m.
