GREEN AND GOLD DAYS COMES TO NJCU ON FEBRUARY 13; FULL DAY OF ACTIVITIES PLANNED AROUND BASKETBALL DOUBLEHEADER
JERSEY CITY, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...New Jersey City University will hold its seventh annual Green and Gold Days winter homecoming event on Saturday, February 13, with a full day of events planned for current students, alumni, faculty/staff and fans, in conjunction with the final home basketball doubleheader of the 2009-10 season and Senior Day. All events will be held at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center, with games played on “Coach Charlie Brown Court.” Admission is free for all events.
The day begins with a pair of women's and men's alumni basketball games, starting at 11 a.m. At 5 p.m. the NJCU women will play perhaps its most important New Jersey Athletic Conference game in a generation, with the opportunity to clinch its first NJAC Tournament berth since the 1988-89 season, if the Gothic Knights can defeat Ramapo College in an NJAC North Division game.
The men's basketball team faces Ramapo in a must-win game at 7 p.m. A loss will eliminate the Knights from the conference tournament race.
Prior to the men's game, NJCU will honor its three senior guards—PAT DEVANEY (Bayonne, NJ/St. Augustine Prep), KYLE INGRAM (Sicklerville, NJ/Winslow Township) and JOSH LOPEZ (Jersey City, NJ/St. Mary's (Jersey City)).
Additionally, there will be a hospitality suite available in the rear classroom of the JMAC for a nearly five-hour window during the basketball doubleheader.
