- Michael Fiorentino is the toughest player in Division III to strikeout. In 64 plate appearances and 54 at bats this season, Fiorentino, who ranks #1 in the country in fewest strikeouts, has not struck out.

Junior left fielder KEN WITTE (Wantage, NJ/High Point Regional) was a combined 6-for-7 with five RBIs and five runs and New Jersey City University collected 26 hits in 12 innings as the Gothic Knights extended their winning streak to five and moved back above .500, sweeping a non-conference doubleheader from Utica College, 15-6 and 7-4, on Saturday at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.
 
With the wins, NJCU improves to 8-7 overall and wins five straight for the first time since March 25-31, 2006. Utica (2-5) has lost its last four games. It was the first known meeting between the schools in baseball.
 
Junior third baseman MICHAEL FIORENTINO (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ/Point Pleasant Beach) extended his remarkable streak as the most difficult player in Division III to strikeout. Fiorentino was a combined 4-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs in the twinbill and walked twice and he increased his team-best RBI totals to 22 in 15 games. In 64 plate appearances and 54 at bats this season, Fiorentino, who ranks #1 in the country in fewest strikeouts, has not struck out.
 
Sophomore catcher FRANCISCO RAMIREZ (Jersey City, NJ/Hudson Catholic) continued his hot streak. He drove in five RBIs in the doubleheader, going 3-for-8.
