NJCU SOFTBALL TAKES TWO FROM BROOKLYN, 5-3 AND 10-2

- Megan Ginter helped NJCU sweep Brooklyn and reach double figures in wins for the season.

BROOKLYN, NY (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...New Jersey City University
received a pair of solid pitching performances from freshman ASHLEY O'BEIRNE (Wood-Ridge, NJ/Immaculate Conception) and senior TARA PERRUCCI (East Rutherford, NJ/Wallington) and swept a non-conference softball doubleheader from Brooklyn College, 5-3 and 10-2 in six innings, on Wednesday at Monsignor Crawford Field.
NJCU, which had lost four straight and 9-of-10, ups its record to 11-13 while the Bulldogs (14-10) dropped their fourth straight. NJCU leads the all-time series, 4-2. Every NJCU player who saw action had at least one hit in the doubleheader.
Sophomore shortstop MEGAN GINTER (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) was a combined 3-for-7 with three runs in the twinbill while junior centerfielder STEPHANIE GOMEZ (South Plainfield, NJ/Belleville) had multiple hits in each game, finishing a combined 4-for-8 with three RBIs and two runs.
