MEN’S, WOMEN’S SOCCER ALUMNI GAMES, SOFTBALL, BASEBALL CONTESTS TO HIGHLIGHT ATHLETIC EVENTS DURING NJCU’S 80TH ANNIVERSARY BIRTHDAY BASH AND REUNION WEEK

JERSEY CITY, NJ (www.NJCUGothicKnights.com)...New Jersey City University will hold its annual men's and women's soccer alumni games following a 12 p.m. home softball doubleheader against Richard Stockton College on Saturday, April 24 and will offer free refreshments to its alumni and fans as part of the institution's 80^th Anniversary Birthday Bash and Reunion Week.

The weeklong celebration of NJCU's 80^th anniversary officially runs from April 17-25, with athletic events on April 23 and 24. The Gothic Knight baseball team will host New Jersey Athletic Conference rival Rutgers-Newark on Friday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m. in another home event.

The Division of University Advancement will sponsor refreshments for the baseball and softball games during the weekend, which includes hot dogs and beverages.

On April 24, the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field will be the site for the women's soccer alumni game at 2:30 p.m. The men's soccer alumni game is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.

Alumni wishing to play in the men's alumni game can sign up by contacting men's soccer coach Nansha Kalonji at 201-200-3209 or by emailing nkalonji@njcu.edu. Women's alumni can be involved by contact women's soccer coach Robert Bielan at coachbiel@optonline.net.
